Ingredients

  • 28 g (1 oz) dried guajillo chillies or dried ancho chillies (see Notes)
  • 1.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 3 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 1.75 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Place the dried chillies, oregano, cumin seeds, garlic powder, salt, cayenne and black pepper into the mixing bowl and grind for 30 seconds/speed 10. Transfer the seasoning to an airtight jar and use as needed.

Notes

  • I use ancho chilli flakes instead of whole dried chillies – Tesco and Sainsbury’s sell jars in the spice section.
  • This recipe for fajita seasoning is easily adapted if you need to make less or more.
